'How To Train Your Dragon 2014 Better Than The First, Critics Say; Third Installment Set For June 2017 Release'
"How to Train Your Dragon", the film that brought everyone to the world of dragons released its second installment last June, which allowed fans to know how to live life with dragons harmoniously. "How to Train Your Dragon 2014" is a better watch compared to the first movie according to Franchise Herald review.
"How to Train Your Dragon 2014" was written and directed by Dean DeBlois. It follows the story of Hiccup and his dragon Toothless, as they explore the chart and world of new territories around Berk, their homeland. When they stumble upon the cave full of dragons and the mysterious Dragon Ride, they end up with a bigger conflict between dragons and humans.
Common Sense Media also described the film as an epic 3D adventure with gripping action sequences and dazzling visuals that will surely appeal to young and adult who enjoy watching epic adventure movies.
Although majority of its reviews are positive, "How to Train Your Dragon 2014" did not earn big in the box office compared to its first installment. Despite being the major animated film at the time, it dropped 50% on its second weekend, which implies that the sequel was not as appealing as the first one. However, it is much like a conventional blockbuster for this summer.
But according to MoviePilot, the film did not re-hash the prequel. The filmmakers did their best to produce a good sequel to show new adventures and challenges along with danger.
There are reports that the film grossed $615M across the globe. When it comes to movie ratings, "How to Train Your Dragon 2014" got 76% at Metacritic with 39 reviews and a 8.2/10 rating at IMdb, which means that fans and movie critics love it.
Due to the success of the second installment, "How to Train Your Dragon" will continue its plan for a third installment, which will be released in June 2017. There will be new characters that will be introduced while some of the characters including America Ferrera who plays Astrid, Cate Blanchett as Valka, and Jay Baruchel who plays the role of Hiccup will reprise their roles .
